The San Diego Polo Club kicked off the second part of the season in Rancho Santa Fe, California under a cool overcast sky with some amazing Polo for the start of the Fernando Guitierrez Memorial Cup. The action was fast and furious with some spectacular play by seasoned player Graham Bray scoring 9 goals for team Starmeadow. The other team Tritech/Princeps managed to score a total of nine goals but it was not enough to match the additional six goals scored by Grahm’s son Jesse Bray and two goals scored by Jessica Bailey. Joy Bancroft was responsible on defense for keeping team Starmeadow’s winning margin so large.

TERI, a therapeutic riding program, made a presentation about their riding program and sold art work to help raise funds. Canon Business donated $10,000 to the TERI program.

The San Diego Polo Club celebrates its twenty fifth anniversary in San Diego this year. The roots for Polo in the San Diego area go back much further to when the first polo match in California was played in Coronado.  The San Diego Polo Club offers world class, fully regulated polo on state-of-the art polo fields and hosts tow United States Polo Association (USPA) tournaments every year.

The Fernando Guiterrez Memorial Cup Finals will be this Sunday with the gates opening at 12:30 PM and polo starting at 1:00 PM. If you would like to attend tickets for the San Diego Polo Club Social membership area are available at the Horse Riders and Adventurers Meetup.
