The Pasadena Rose Parade has transformed what was a more informal presentation of the horses that appear in the Rose Parade and turned it into a wonderful presentation of Rose Parade Horses. With the title Equestfest they moved the whole horse show over to the Burbank Equestrian Center last year for a very special demonstration of how much more these beautiful horses can do than just walk down a parade route.

The show included some spectacular trick riding by the All
American Cowgirl Chicks and the Cowgirl Historical Foundation. The Medieval Times knights demonstrated how dressage and horses were used in battle in the Medieval Times. A rescue of a kidnapped little girl by the Buffalo Soldiers had shooting and lots of action. A demonstration of horseback shooting followed with targets on the ground and some even thrown into the air.
[private]One of the more amazing parts of the Rose Parade Horses Equestfest was the eight Budweiser Clydesdales parking the wagon with the tailgate against a wall. Most truck drivers today could not do this any better. A number of other Rose Parade Horses came out and dazzled the crowd. The Equestfest 2009 is definitely on my list of events to see next year.
Equestfest 2008 was broadcast live by RFD TV who will also broadcast the 2009 Rose Parade and have a float in the parade. RFD TV is rural America’s TV network! [/private]
