Magic- The Magical Creature | A Nice Horse story
By: Cynthia Carrabine
Joy is the feel of the wind in my face as my horse and I Gallup down a dirt road.
Magic is while we are at the Gallup I hold my arms up and out to the side. We are flying. My horse knows what I want him to do and we are one with the thought and motion. The ground rushing by, the sound of hooves, my watering eyes and a light heart….
Freedom is found in my horse’s presence. I have never found this freedom anywhere else. I can be myself with my horse. He expects that of me.
Happiness whether on the ground or in the saddle is with my horse. If I am unhappy, my horse can give me happiness. If I am having a bad day, my horse can warm my heart and before I know it – I can’t think about anything other then the joy riding or playing with my horse. He can make me laugh and he can make my heart soar.
Peace is with me as I ride down a trail. Beautiful green grass, trees and an ocean view. I can’t think of anywhere else that I would rather be. The hawks calling, the bunnies hopping and me and my horse taking it all in.
Friendship is there for the taking. My horse is my best friend. He knows all my secrets and keeps them safe. My horse may think that I am a walking carrot but I know he wants my friendship and a relationship with me also. He shows me in his horse type way that he acknowledges me as a friend and horse buddy.
Awe is my thought as I listen to my horse’s hoof beats at the different giants. Even more so, when I watch him play with another horse. The way he rears, bucks and runs around the pasture. The muscle and power yet the gentleness and beauty to the movement is breathtaking. I think of it as horsy ballet.
My horse, as all horses are a magical creature that shares these gifts with the people who care for them. I will always treasure each and every moment with my horse.
