    Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Showcase

    This video is a 5 minute explanation of the WEG events at the HUGE undertaking of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

    Alltech brought their Kentucky based traveling road show to California and demonstrated Reining, Vaulting, Cross -Country Jumping, Driving and Dressage. .This show and tell  is like the tastes of  the Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Beer & Beef they served; you want more. Good times rolled as the California Cowgirls to Olympic Medalists paraded out and performed.

    World Championship Three Day Eventing | Britain Wins Team Gold and Individual Silver

     Britain wins team gold and individual silver in World Championship Three Day Eventing

     

    The British Three Day Eventing Team finished up with Gold at the World Championship at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The team members that needed to deliver, William Fox-Pitt Cool Mountain, Mary King Imperial Cavalier and Nicola Wilson Opposition Buzz jumped clear.

    The Americans came into the final day in second but failed to hold on to the position when .Karen O’Conners horse Mandiba stopped at the gate at fence seven. This allowed Canada to move up to Silver and New Zealand placed fourth for the Bronze Medal.

    Gold Medal  Winner Edward Gal Netherlands 91.8 “Just perfect!” The announcer said. An amazing performance. Edward Gal is the World record holder of 92.3. Did Totilas break into a cantor during the trot.

    Silver Medal Winner Laura Bechtolsheimer  Britain Mistral Houris 85.3

    Bronze Stephen Peters US Ravel 84.9 has the best music. He also got a standing ovation!

    Fourth Imka Bartels Netherlands last horse to go Dressage Freestyle 82.1

    Fifth Juan Manuel Munoz Diaz Spain 81.4 An amazingly entertaining ride with a standing ovation.

    Dressage World Championships Results at the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games

    Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games World Championship Dressage results were a repeat of yesterday’s Team Dressage results, but without the drama about blood. U.S. Rider Steffen Peters entered the record books today when he rode Ravel to the Grand Prix Special individual bronze medal in the Dressage World Championships at the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games as the first American to win an individual medal in the Dressage World Championship. Peters, from San Diego, California, scored 78.54 %.

     Team Dressage Results 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

     

    The gold medal in team Grand Prix dressage at the World Equestrian Games was won by the Netherlands on Tuesday even after having a horse disqualified.

    Britain won a silver for second place and the German team dressage won bronze with the United States fourth.

    The Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen and horse Jerich Parzival were disqualified when the ground jury found blood in the horse’s saliva, an automatic elimination.

    The Netherlands scored 229.754 points, Britain had 224.767, and Germany finished with 220.595. This is the first time Britain medaled in team dressage at the World Equestrian Games.

     World Equestrian Games Team Endurance Results

    The United Arab Emirates won gold medals in the World Equestrian Games Team Endurance Race. United Arab Emirates (25:49:36) were 55 minutes ahead of silver medalists France (24:49:46). The bronze winner Germany (25:34:16 was a big surprise in the World Equestrian Games Team Endurance Results. This was the first time Germany has placed in the top three in a World Equestrian Games.

    The UAE team members were HE Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed Al Maktoum, HE Sheikh Majid Mohammed Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum. In order to prepare for the climate and conditions in Kentucky the team members trained in Newmarket, England.

    2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Equine Disciplines

    The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Equine Disciplines will include:

    Eventing competition includes three disciplines starting with Dressage followed by the timed cross country and finishing with Stadium Jumping.

    Vaulting combines gymnastics and dance to music. The horse is guided on a lunge line while the athletes perform. It is open to both men and women. Vaulting is big in Europe especially Germany where it is part of basic equestrian training. Vaulting is also well established in France, the Netherlands, the UK and Sweden.

    Reining Movements Scoring | 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

    Horse and rider start with a score of 70 and earn points or have them deducted in ½, 1, and 1-1/2 increments. A score of 70 would be for an average performance. Sliding stops requires a horse to keep its head down, back rounded, hindquarters well underneath the body, and to “walk” or pull with the front legs as the hind legs slide

    A reining pattern includes from eight to twelve movements. Reining pattern movements are comprised of the following:

    World Equestrian Games Television Schedule

     This is a record for equestrian events on TV!

    NBC Sports will air 8½ hours of live coverage of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington on three consecutive weekends, beginning this Saturday at 12 Noon ET. Universal Sports will air taped broadcasts of the Reining Final, the Dressage Freestyle, the Driving competition and the Vaulting Final. They will  show more than 15 hours live, including the majority of the show jumping competition.

    That is a combined 30 hours of taped and live broadcast.

    Reining World Equestrian Games Results

    Reining comes to the World Equestrian Games for the first time with high expectations for the US team. The Alltech World Equestrian Games Reining officials named the 75 Horses for the event from 22 nations and 71 competitors.

    At the end of the first day an Italian Stefano Massignan earned 224 points aboard riding the palomino stallion Yellow Jersey. He edged out American Craig Schmersal on Mister Montana Nic by a slim 0.5 lead. On the team level the US is in first place due to a score by Tim McQuay of 220.5.

    Alltech World Equestrian Games Reining officials named the 75 Horses, 22 Nations and 71 Competitors that will definitely take part in the WEG.

    Horses with names like Slidin Like A Yankee, Im A Rastafari, A Real Hillbilly and Hollywoodstinseltown are there. Horses that are freakishly good at what they were bred to do.

    They reflect American breeding but most are hailing from countries very remote to the USA.

    Reining Showman with foreign names like Ahisshar, Carmignani, Rzepka, Girinon and Czarnik are bringing the international enthusiasm of their countries reining expertise.
