2009 Extreme Cowboy Race World Championships
2009 Extreme Cowboy Race World Championships | Topeka, Kansas
The Extreme Cowboy Association (EXCA) will host the 2009 Extreme Cowboy Race finals November 13-15 at the Kansas Expo centre in Topeka, Kansas. Founder of the organization, Craig Cameron will give live commentary on the event that will take place in the Expo centre’s R.R. Domer Livestock Complex indoor arena. The venue has a seating space of 1,400 and a large warm up area and stalls for 245 horses.
It is said that more than 300 horse/rider teams from all over the country will be competing for the title of Extreme Cowboy Race World Champion. The competition will be held in five divisions that are:
- Young Guns – 7-11 years
- Youth – 12 -17 years
- Non-Pro
- Pro and
- Ride Smart with contestants of ages 55 years or more.
In addition to presenting the live commentary of the championship, EXCA Founder and Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame member Craig Cameron will also be giving educational and entertaining riding demonstrations. He will be giving one hour sessions on a new topic everyday. The sessions will start at 9.00 am.
The Extreme Cowboy Race events are designed to challenge both the rider and horse to overcome a series of obstacles. The number of obstacles crossed, overall horsemanship and speed are the three basis for scoring participants.
It is mandatory for all the participants to be members of the Extreme Cowboy Association. The registration process is still open for the riders of all ages and for all the breeds of horses & mules. Western-style clothing and tack is a must for all the participants.
